- Now a first trailer for the thriller series has been released.
- This shows twins Elliot and Beverly Mantle surrendering to their desire to perfect human birth.
This trailer sends a shiver down your spine. At the start of the thriller series “Dead Ringers” in April 2023, Amazon Prime Video published a first disturbing video. This shows us how brilliant scientists Elliot and Beverly are doing everything they can to perfect human birth.
The women push the boundaries of medical ethics and denounce outdated practices in childbirth care for women. But the sisters quickly disregard what is humanly possible and let their desire for perfection become insane.
As the video shows, Elliot and Beverly even become rivals. Because even if they share everything, they still want to claim some fame for themselves.
The Amazon Prime Video series is based on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller Lovebirds and brings the story into modern times. The main roles of science twins Elliot and Beverly are both played by “Black Widow” star Rachel Weisz.
“Dead Ringers” was developed, written and produced by dramaturg Alice Birch (“Succession”). The series starts on April 21, 2023 on Amazon Prime Video.
