Hunt: Showdown gets new, extensive 1.12. updates.

Hunt: Showdown, Crytek’s award-winning tactical PvPvE first-person shooter, receives the massive new update 1.12 today.

Added are two quest lines with all-new rewards, a number of improvements and bug fixes, and two new tutorials that will make it much easier for new players to get started.

Update 1.12 highlights

New Tutorials

Two new tutorials make it quick and easy to learn Hunt’s unique bounty hunter gameplay. Doug Cockle from The Witcher series lends his voice to the experienced hunter and tutorial leader John Victor.

The basic tutorial explains the core mechanics of Hunt including controls, weapon system, monsters and more. After completing the tutorial for the first time, players will receive a level 1 hunter along with the rewards earned during the tutorial. Players can then complete the advanced tutorial or access it separately later.

In the advanced tutorial, hunters will find a clue to locate, fight, and banish a boss target before going home with a reward. Both tutorials allow players to hone their skills before hitting the bayou.

New quest lines

Update 1.12 brings players two quest lines — The station of the reptilian (March 29 to May 1, 2023) and afterwards Vengeance of the Skinned. Each questline offers hunters new activities and valuable rewards to earn across six acts, including unlocking new weapon variants, legendary gear, and more.

For the first time, players can complete tasks within questlines together, meaning other teammates can now contribute to each other’s progress during a match. For example, if they complete the “Kill Enemy Hunters” quest, their teammates’ kills will also count toward completion.

New wildcard order

Building on the success of the Devil’s Moon Live event, which introduced the Inferno, update 1.12 adds a new wildcard quest option, allowing Hunters to play during a specific time of day.

When hunters choose this quest, they will queue up with other players who want to hunt in the bayou during the night.

Improvements for solo players, combat logs and more

Update 1.12 adds damage history to combat logs, requested by members of the Hunt: Showdown community. Players can view up to 90 seconds before their death to understand how they were killed and what they can do better next time, including detailed stats.

The update also adds new conditional effects for certain traits that only apply to solo players. Thus, the playing field is leveled for those who want to prevail alone against teams of hunters. The update also includes audio, gameplay, and weapon improvements, as well as various bug fixes.
