Changes to Salmon Run
- The interval between touching the golden egg and being able to use it is approximately the same for all players.
- By adjusting the animation speed when a golden egg enters a non-host player’s life circle, the interval between touching a golden egg and being able to use it is now roughly the same for host and non-host players.
- However, if the communication delays exceed a certain level, the timing may not be the same as that of the home player.
This update focuses on adding Splatfest data, tweaking Splatfest points, and tweaking online multiplayer.
For Splatfest points, halftime report adjustments should make it less likely that the winning team is already determined.
For the main weapon, the changes should highlight the unique features of the weapon and strengthen certain combinations of secondary and special weapons.
For sub-weapons, the changes should create more ways to use certain sub-weapons, as well as limit strategies that used repetitive use of certain sub-weapons.
In terms of special weapons, we’ve reviewed and adjusted the performance of each special weapon now that the use of special weapons new to Splatoon 3 is more established.
For Kraken Royale’s new special weapon, its basic abilities are unchanged, but it has been tweaked in certain mods to reduce adverse circumstances.
For Salmon Run, the changes should ensure that latency will be minimal regardless of which system is hosting. It is possible that the selection of the host system for wireless gaming in any or all game modes may change, either to add a feature or improve communication efficiency. Therefore, we take steps to reduce latency regardless of the host system.
We plan to release the next update at the end of the current season. It will primarily focus on balance adjustments and adding features for the new season starting in June.
