A new, completely different Turtles game is born. [Bildrechte: IDW Publishing. ©2020 Viacom International Inc.]
The Turtles are funny, cheeky and child-friendly. At least mostly. The dark spin-off The Last Ronin strikes very different tones. And that very comic is getting a video game adaptation.
As opposed to rights holder Paramount’s Doug Rosen Polygon announced that the game is being developed by an unnamed developer studio. It should be an action role-playing game and playfully based on God of War.
Not much more is known about the new TMNT game, nor is there an approximate release date. But Rosen assumes that there is still a few years
will take.
Dark, bloody, mature
If you want to experience the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin comic template completely uninformed, read no further at this point. Following slight spoilers for the story of the comicso that those interested can get a rough idea of the upcoming game.

The Last Ronin is set in a dystopian future where New York has become a dark juggernaut. The Turtles as a squad no longer exist. Only one of the four Ninja Turtles survived, the rest (including Master Splinter) were killed by the Shredders Foot Clan.
The surviving Turtle is old, bitter, and out for bloody revenge. Which of the four mutated turtles it is remains open in the first volume until the very end. The figure uses all four weapons, including those of his dead friends, i.e. nunchaku, bo, two sai and two katana.
Exactly this comic inspired fans to create an elaborately staged video:
What could the game look like?
The new TMNT game is set in this unfamiliar, gloomy, adult scenario. If you now take God of War as a conceptual starting point, we can easily imagine an action role-playing game in which players fight their way through the ranks of the Foot Clan and regularly engage in effective boss fights. Or something like that.
