Last weekend, Hideki Kamiya told PAX East 2020 fans to "email Compcom" if they wanted to see a sequel to the series. One of the games mentioned was Watching Joe, which was first released on GameCube in 2003 and gained traction the following year.
Following this in an interview with Nintendo Enthusiast, Hideki emphasized that some decisions were not to be made but added that he was determined to "end" the games on Viewtiful Joe by the third and final entry:
there have been visuals for Joe 1 and 2, but never 3. So, for me personally, I'd like to end that trilogy with the beloved Joe 3.
Hideki also would like to see the first game of Viewtiful Joe on the switch, but once he does it again, he's in Capcom.
Personally, I really hope it comes back. I don't want it to be discarded from time to time. Please! I would if that were possible.
