Microsoft submits proposals to the European Commission to acquire Activision Blizzard and the The European Federation of Developers is in favor of the agreement. So far, the exact content of the concessions offered by Microsoft to obtain the approval of the European regulator is unknown, but the arguments presented by the company have convinced European developers, as MLex reports.
For its part, the European Federation of Developers recommended that the Commission investigate further Microsoft’s plans to distribute its titles on various platforms. However, Sony and Google have expressed their disagreement with the proposals presented by the American company for the acquisition of Activision. Notably, Sony has been Microsoft’s main adversary in this deal, while Google has opposed the Activision acquisition in the past.
Google and Sony alone against Microsoft and Activision
Although the specific content of Microsoft’s concessions is unknown, European developers are fine with the company’s acquisition of Activision. The deal has yet to be officially approved by the European Commission and further investigation is expected to follow into how Microsoft plans to distribute its games across different platforms.
