That means juicer: person who charges the batteries of e-scooters
“Juicer” is an English term that can be literally translated as “Entsafter” in German. But this is not about the juicer, but about the job title “juicer”. The acronym Juicer refers to a person who works for a company that operates and recharges electric scooters or similar vehicles. These people are called juicers because they “charge” the vehicles’ batteries, much like squeezing fruit juice.
A juicer is typically a freelance contractor hired by the scooter company to charge batteries on Elektor scooters rented by users. The Juicer’s job is to pick the vehicles off the road, change or charge the batteries, and then get the vehicles back on the road.
What are the dangers of a juicer?
Examples of such scooter companies are Lime, Bird or Voi. With their vehicles, they offer an alternative to traditional private transport and promote more efficient mobility. However, the juicer’s job also comes with some dangers:

What does “yeet” mean?
A juicer often works with heavy and bulky objects, such as scooters, e-bikes or spare batteries that are not easy to handle. Juicers work on public roads and are therefore exposed to traffic. You work with electrical equipment and batteries that may pose a risk of electric shock or explosion. The training courses offered by the companies should minimize the risks mentioned.

The environmentally friendly alternative?
It should also be mentioned that not everything when dealing with e-scooters and the like is environmentally friendly, because the lithium-ion batteries required for the vehicles can release harmful chemicals and greenhouse gases during production.
It is important that electric scooter and vehicle manufacturers ensure that their batteries are produced in an environmentally friendly manner and that they provide an appropriate means of reuse or disposal.
