This allowed us (and allows, since it’s still available on Xbox Series) to enjoy our favorite games from a past generation in a current generation, and in many cases with many improvements. For several years, Microsoft has added new games to this program, including from the original Xbox, but some time ago it was announced that new games would no longer be added. This was bad news for many gamers as many titles were left out requiring you to have an Xbox 360 to play many games. 10. Blur
Blur was a game developed by now defunct Bizarre Creations and published by Activision. It was an arcade driving game, very reminiscent of the Mario Kart saga, but with a realistic twist.. The races were very hectic and fun, using different power-ups to defeat our rivals. Blur had great graphics and almost everyone who tried it loved it. But therein lies its problem, and that is that few people have bought it. The game sold very poorly, mainly due to Activision’s lack of marketing. All of this resulted in the closure of the Bizarre Creations studio. Despite the title’s few sales, Blur is one of the most requested games for the Xbox Backward Compatibility Program.
9. The Saboteur
The Saboteur is an open-world action adventure set during the Nazi invasion of Paris during World War II. The title developed by Pandemic Studios and published by EA, stood out for its neat aesthetics and its successful setting. Our protagonist is Sean Devlin and we will have to liberate the city of Paris from the Nazis, with a game system reminiscent of sagas like Assassin’s Creed. One of the advantages of The Saboteur was its artistic section, as it combined black and white and color very well. Black and white were the neighborhoods controlled by the Nazis, and once liberated, these took on color. The game, although popular with the public, did not sell enough and was a flop. Although this is a somewhat repetitive game and entirely in English, we think it deserves to be backwards compatible.
8. Condemned 2: Bloodshot
Condemned 2: Bloodshot is the direct sequel to the first title in the saga, Condemned: Criminal Origins, which, curiously, is backwards compatible. The game is a first-person horror and action title, the particularity of which is the use of melee weapons to defend against our enemies.. Condemned 2 takes place 11 months after the end of the first part, controlling Ethan again, where he must catch a new murderer, but this time it seems that the scale of the murders and the people involved are even greater than in the part. previous. . The game was received very positively, perhaps a little worse than Condemned Criminal Origins, but still an outstanding title. We don’t know why Condemned 2 isn’t backwards compatible, but Sega was the publisher of both games, and the former is backwards compatible.
7. Singularity
Singularity is a first-person shooter published by Activision and developed by Raven Software. In the game we will control an American spy who must infiltrate an island where he is in the hands of the Soviet Union. There you will find many dangers and atrocities. The game perfectly mixes action with suspense and the use of powers. This is very reminiscent of games like Bioshock or Portal. The game also had a multiplayer mode. It received good reviews but did not sell enough to be considered a success. We’re still hoping that when Microsoft’s purchase of Activision is complete that this game will be backwards compatible.
6. WET
WET is a third-person action title in which our protagonist Rubi will make real massacres with his enemies. Rubi will have to overcome a series of missions mixing stunts with shooting. The game is strongly reminiscent of movies like Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. In addition, WET is very replayable, since in all the missions we will have a score counter, since killing our opponents with style will reward us. The game was released in 2009 and was published by Bethesda. A simple but very fun action title that I personally really want to play again on current consoles.
5. Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom did what The Last Guardian would replicate years later. The title takes place in a kingdom plunged by “darkness” and in which a young thief is determined to save it by releasing a mystical and powerful beast called Majin. Well, with this leading duo we will have to overcome all the dangers that this great adventure offers us. We will have to make both the beast and the young man cooperate to overcome various puzzles or to fight our enemies. The game, despite its quality, went completely unnoticed. It was published by Bandai Namco and developed by Game Republic.
4. Fes
Fez was one of the first indie phenoms in 2012. A game released on Xbox Arcade that blended platforming and puzzles exceptionally well. The game was praised for its ingenious puzzles which were a lot of fun.. Its creator came to announce a sequel due to the success of this game, but after an argument on the internet it was cancelled, and this seems to be the reason why Fez is not backwards compatible. A pain.
3. The vice
Stranglehold is a third-person shooter from the mind of action movie director John Woo.. It works as a sequel to the 1992 movie Hard Boiled directed by Woo himself. We control Inspector Tequila who must fight his way through the triads of Japan. With the recent release of John Wick 4, this game is extremely reminiscent of that saga starring Keanu Reeves. The game had a sequel planned as the first installment received very good reviews, but it was canceled due to Midway’s bankruptcy.
2. Ninja Blade
Ninja Blade was a title developed by From Software exclusively for Xbox 360.. This game is a far cry from what the creators of Dark Souls or Elden Ring are currently doing. And it is that Ninja Blade is very reminiscent of games like Ninja Gaiden or Bayonetta. It’s a very frantic Hack and Slash and with many Quick Times Event. The game surprised us with many spectacular scenes that looked like they were taken straight from a Hollywood movie. The game received very good reviews, although it was somewhat criticized for the excessive use of quick events.
1. Top Spin 4
You could say that Top Spin 4 was the last good tennis game we had on our consoles. It is true that there have been some attempts to create games of this sport, but the level of excellence of this game has not been reached. Top Spin 4 was full of possibilities, with a very generous number of licensed tennis players, game modes, a very entertaining line and very good gameplay.. 2K Games did a great job on this game, and we may never see it backwards compatible due to licensing issues.
