- Filter: the OnePlus 11 mounts a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 1-120Hz dynamic refresh rateQHD+ resolution and a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, while the iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display at 60Hz fixed, something incomprehensible for a phone costing more than a thousand dollars launched at the end of 2022. Both proposals They support Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range.
- Processor: Apple reserved the A16 Bionic for its 14 Pro, keeping the A15 bionic of the previous generation in this iPhone 14. This does not mean that it has bad performance, far from it, but for its price the user would expect to have the latest. The OnePlus 11 equips the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the latest gem from Qualcomm and which promises raw power and greater energy efficiency.
- RAM and storage: iOS and Android manage RAM differently, so the 6 GB of the iPhone 14 is enough for optimal performance. In the OnePlus 11 there are two options: 8 or 16 GB, linked to the choice of 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. In the case of this terminal, it is more advisable to opt for 16 GB.
- Operating system: iOS 16 versus Android 13 with the OxygenOS 13 customization layer
- cameras: Apple remains “conservative” in the photographic section with its dual 12 MP rear camera and TrueDepth front camera with Face ID, which has improved taking photos in low light conditions. OnePlus 11 brackets triple sensor With a main camera of 50 MP, a wide-angle camera of 48 MP and a telephoto lens of 32 MP, the front one remaining at 16 MP.
- connectivity: the iPhone 14 and the OnePlus proposal have similar connectivity: WiFi 6 (6E in the case of the OnePlus 11), Bluetooth 5.3, 5G and NFC. The OnePlus has a USB-C connection, while the 14 maintains Lightning.
- Battery: The iPhone 14, according to Apple, is capable of holding up to 20 hours per charge in video playback. The OnePlus 11 mounts a 5000 mAh battery. Our colleagues from Xataka obtained approximate figures of 6:30 screen with mixed use 5G, WiFi, screen with 2K resolution, dark mode and without AOD. Also 100W fast charging for emergency moments that allows you to recharge your mobile from 0 to 100 in just over 20 minutes
- Security system: Apple continues to bet on Face ID and face unlock, while the OnePlus 11 is more conservative with its in-display fingerprint sensor, a method many users prefer, although each has its pros and cons.
- Price: The price of the iPhone 14 128 GB is 1,009 dollars, increasing according to the storage capacity. The OnePlus 11 starts at 849 dollars.
iPhone 14 VS OnePlus 11, which phone to buy?
Despite the fact that the iPhone 14 is Apple’s cheapest smartphone, its RRP is over a thousand dollars and it has several points difficult to justify:
- Whether the screen has a fixed 60Hz while much cheaper phones have 90 or 120Hz and adaptive refresh.
- That it retains the A15 Bionic chip instead of implementing the A16 Bionic, creating an even greater distinction between the Pro and “normal” models.
As strong points it has the autonomy, which is quite good (although the fast charging is below competing technologies), the wide support for updates and the good general performance of the device.
However, the OnePlus 11 is a solid alternative to Apple’s smartphoneespecially considering that:
- It is less expensive
- The screen has an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz (although peak brightness is somewhat tight)
- Fairly decent autonomy and ultra-fast charging at 100W
- The powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip
The cameras have also improved over the previous model, but there are still bugs which make them pale before direct rivals. For example, when interpreting color, as it is quite inconsistent in this aspect.
