The PC launch of The Last of Us: Part I was pretty much a flop, as players had to struggle with numerous technical shortcomings. After two quick hotfixes in the last week, the new week will continue with two planned updates.
Naughty Dog apparently wants to quickly forget the modest technical start of the PC version of The Last of Us: Part I and is working flat out with its partners to fix the problems. After two hotfixes last week, the new week continues seamlessly.
After the first two minor updates on March 29th and March 30th, which focused on stability, performance improvements, memory usage and reducing memory requirements, the third hotfix is to follow on Tuesday, April 4th. This will focus on stuttering in mouse controlled camera movement and will also fix some crash issues and more.
However, together with Iron Galaxy they will continue to work on all known problems. The outcome of this should then be a larger patch with additional bug fixes; this is due to be released later in the new week.
The players were once again apologized for any inconvenience via Twitter. They didn’t deliver the expected Naughty Dog quality and are “working hard to fix the problems”. In the end, the game that the fans “expect and deserve” should also be available on the PC.
Finally, gamers were also encouraged to install the latest NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel graphics drivers.
