“Paddington in Peru” is finally in the works. A sequel with the little bear was planned for a long time and was always postponed. Now there is finally a date for the shooting of “Paddington 3”.

  • The shooting of “Paddington 3” can finally begin.
  • In July 2023 the time has come and the little British bear puts on his red bucket hat again.
  • The new film will be called “Paddington in Peru” and will take Paddington back to his native Peru.

Lick the jam off your fingers and adjust your red bucket hat, Paddington Bear returns to the big screen with a third film. Six years after the second film, the lively brown bear soon experiences a new adventure in his native Peru.

Like the US magazine “Deadline” reported, the shooting of “Paddington in Peru” is scheduled to start on July 24, 2023. Judging by the title, the extremely polite British bear is drawn back to his country of birth, the “darkest Peru”. The adventure he will experience there is hidden the furry friend, however, under his oversized blue parka for now.

For “Paddington 3”, Studiocanal is once again merging with Studio Heyday, which is responsible for the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” films, among other things.

The “Paddington” films are based on the successful children’s books by British author Michael Bond. Just like the first two films, the idea for “Paddington in Peru” again came from Paul King, Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton.

Bont wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Jon Foster and James Lamont. King is handing over his directorship to Dougal Wilson, who is making his feature film debut with Paddington 3.

Paddington is once again joined in his new adventure by Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Imelda Staunton and Michael Gambon. It is not known whether Ben Whishaw will give his voice back to the bear in the original English version. In German, actor Elyas M’Barek speaks the furry gentleman.

We last saw Paddington being invited to tea with the late Queen Elizabeth II on her jubilee. Of course, things went wrong again.

Unfortunately, it has not yet been announced when we can look forward to news from Paddington Bear. Since the extremely cuddly bear needs some CGI work, we do not expect a launch before summer 2024.
