When released in October, Overwatch 2 was little more than a major update for the first part. Well, a few months later, Blizzard has at least delivered some fresh content. With Lifeweaver, the next hero is in the starting blocks and will be playable from the start of Season 4.
Heroes come, heroes go. In Overwatch 2, however, any warriors rarely have to take their hat off. Instead, Blizzard regularly delivers fresh characters for the shooter. For example, in December, at the start of Season 2, the tank Ramattra was implemented. Now, with Lifewaver, a fresh supporter is in the starting blocks.

You can play him from the start of Season 4 on April 11, 2023. With his primary fire mode “Healing Blossom”, he automatically targets enemies and regenerates their health. According to Blizzard, the secondary mode “Thorn Salvo” causes comparatively high damage for a supporter. However, you have to be careful, because you can only have one of the two variants activated at a time.
On the other hand, the secondary fire mode “Flower Platform” places a floating surface with which you can reach higher points on the maps. The Lifeline grabs teammates and pulls them towards you. During this time, they are immune to damage and are also healed somewhat. Immensely useful, this skill could decide entire games.
Last but not least, the ultimate ability should of course be mentioned. You use it to summon the “Tree of Life”, which regenerates your team’s life in batches. You can also take cover behind him.
Storywise, Lifeweaver comes from Thailand and is very close to nature. This affection for botany is also reflected in his skills and design. The Biolight is his own invention and he has already collaborated with Symmetra.
