THE Staking Your Territory quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley is the first quest you get from Nala after she agrees to come live in the valley with you. Nala thinks the valley isn’t quite suitable for Lions just yet, but she knows you’re the only one helping her!
As with many quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are multiple steps to complete this one. Whether it’s wearing mustaches for an important Leo-based lesson or teaching Nala what food you can offer her, you’ve got plenty to do.
Without further ado, we’ll show you how to start And how to complete the Staking Your Territory quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to start the Staking Your Territory quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To begin the Staking Your Territory quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must have unlocked the Lion King Kingdom and completed the Eyes in the Dark quest to bring Nala to your valley. You must also have advances your friendship with Scrooge McDuck (we are at level four and that leaves us to do), and you must have the Dazzle Beach biome.
You can do this quest without completing the Stars to Guide Us quest to unlock Simba, so you don’t have to worry about it if you don’t want to.
You can start the Stake Your Territory quest once you reach friendship level two with Nala. You can do this quickly by having a daily chat with her and bringing her a gift. Once you reach him, you can talk to him to start the quest.
This quest has several stages and we recommend that you have at least 5,000 coins before you start, as you will need them later.

How to Make Dazzle Beach Lion Disney Dreamlight Valley Staking Your Territory Quest Friendly
After talking to Nala to start the quest, you’ll learn that she wants you to make some changes to Dazzle Beach to make it more Lion-friendly. You need to decorate the beach to create an area that she can use for hunting.
The first thing you need to do is go to Scrooge McDuck’s store. When you’re here, talk to Scrooge and say you want to “order items”. Then select the “Furniture” option and you should instantly see a request from Nala in the “Requests” section.
Order Scar’s Relaxing Rock For 4,600 pieces, but if you already have the rock somewhere else in the valley, feel free to use that one instead. If you order it, it will appear in your furniture inventory after you pay for it.
Once you’ve done that, it’s time to head to Dazzle Beach. To complete this part of the quest, you will need to place:
- Elongated Rock of Scar
- Seven Landscaping Items
Due to the amount of items Nala wants you to put down, we found it easier to decorate the area near the cave that has/had Ursula near the Forest of Valor.
Once you find an area you want to decorate, enter your “Furniture” menu and you should see two requests from Nala. One of them is Elongated Rock of Scarthat you can place anywhere you want.
The second request will be landscaping items that Nala likes. We recommend sticking to this selection of items if you can, it makes it much easier to decorate in a theme.
Now all you have to do is drop seven items of this section to pass the quest. We spent a little longer here and dropped off a few more items than necessary, but we think it went pretty well.
Once you’ve met the requirements, go back and talk to Nala again.
How to Find Rustic Clothes and Mustaches for the Disney Dreamlight Valley Staking Your Territory Quest
Nala will then tell you that you must wear rustic clothes to protect against the sun and some whiskers for a very important lesson. Don’t worry, finding rustic clothes is easier than you think.
Enter your “Wardrobe” option in your side menu, and if you have rustic clothing, you should instantly see a “Request” from Nala. Here you will see all the clothes you own that meet the requirements. Only you need to wear two rustic clothes to clear this bit.
If you don’t have rustic clothes, visit Mr. McDuck’s store again. This time, talk to him about ordering items, but choose the “Clothes” option instead. Then select the item of clothing you want (a shirt, a coat, whatever).
When you’ve selected the item type you want, look at the top of the screen. You should see a control command to use a “Filter” on clothes. Use this command, then scroll through all your options until you reach the one for “Rustic”. Select this, then return to clothing items. The only items displayed for this section will now be rustic items.
Next, it’s time to get some whiskers. Only this time it’s not really mustaches – you need a mustache! To get one, open your “Cabinet” again from the side menu and you should have a second request from Nala. Select this and pick one of the mustaches from here if you don’t already sport one.
When you’re ready, go find Nala.
How to Find Fish for the Disney Dreamlight Valley Staking Your Territory Quest
After talking to Nala again, it’s time to go fishing. Luckily, anything you need can be fished from the waters off Dazzle Beach.
You must catch:
- Three common or uncommon fish
- Three rare or unique fish
To complete this quest, we caught three herrings and three prawns. There are plenty of bubbles off Dazzle Beach, so it won’t take long for you to catch what you need.
When you have everything you need, go find Nala.
How to make a fish dish for the Disney Dreamlight Valley Staking Your Territory quest
After bringing the fish back to Nala, you have the brilliant idea of making it a full meal for her. Follow the conversation and choose the option you want, it won’t impact what you need to do.
Then you must find a stove to make a fish dish for Nala. You can make any fish dish you want to complete this quest, we made it a fish sandwich.

Once this is done, bring the dish back to Nala and talk to her again to complete the quest.
