In the rapidly advancing AI development, there has been no stopping at text- or image-based content. Now more and more services are coming into the AI game that deal with the human voice.
We have collected some examples for you that show how well this already works and how frightening it is at times.
And let’s go!
1. Joe Biden and Donald Trump in a gaming lobby
Who ever wanted to overhear the 46th and 45th US Presidents snapping at each other in an Overwatch lobby? No one? Why not, because it’s always funny.
Twitter user @augerbug has the free one voice.aitool, creating a pretty entertaining argument between Biden and Trump that was almost certainly never going to happen.

Voices and intonations really do sound like the two landed in an Overwatch lobby together. How real that sounds is almost frightening. The possibilities of the technology are enormous.
The number of fake calls is likely to increase sharply in the coming months.
2. Leonardo Dicaprio als Kim Kardashian
Some time ago, actor Leonardo DiCaprio gave a speech to the UN Council. It was about the threat of climate change.
Twitter user Barsee (@heyBarsee) shared a clip with his 150,000+ followers using 11lab’s new AI voice technology. Leonardo often changes his voice during the speech.

The voices sound really real. However, the audio quality is sometimes pretty bad, so that you often hear fragments and background noise. Nevertheless, the AIs seem to be able to handle voices and intonations very well.
We think this is really impressive!
3. Prompts for artificial voices
Play.hta provider of text-to-voice services, has announced that they will offer prompts for their tool “soon”.
In other words, you specify how the voice should sound and give it certain properties.
The best thing to do is take a look for yourself:

Speakers will probably not be used as often in the future.
4. AI in the music world
Musician Roberto Nickson posted a video on Twitter in which he sings a few lines of a song and then converts his voice to Kanye West’s.

He himself writes:
»The music industry is changed forever. Simply that way.”
If this works so well now, think about what will be possible in a few years. This technology could actually change the music industry forever. But that remains to be seen.
5. Short film Last Stand
Our next example doesn’t just have to do with voices. Twitter user Tobi (@notTobi_) posted one of the first AI-generated movies.
The short film is about the first contact with an extraterrestrial life form. The makers of the film have brightpen.ai used to represent many different voices and languages.
But see for yourself and enjoy the show:

In any case, we get a little more respect for AI technologies at this sight and look forward to what awaits us.

When do you think we will see the first AI film in cinemas? Presumably that will take a few more years, but it will most likely come. What do you say about the examples? Does that sometimes send shivers down your spine, or does it leave you cold? As always, let us know what you think in the comments!
