Refined metal is one of the rarest materials in Dredge, but it is extremely important: how to upgrade your hull, which will give your boat more space and stability. You can find it in several places all over the place Dredgeusually well hidden – it’s not as readily available as planks of wood or cloth.
Where to buy refined metal Dredge
The easiest way to get Refined Metal is to buy it. The traveling merchant who opened a shop in each of the four archipelagos – twisted strand, Devil’s Spine, Stellar BasinAnd storm cliffs – sells it for $500 each. However, she has a limited supply, so you’ll only get one per pontoon before she needs to refill. The price of $500 is a bit high in the world of Dredge
Also, during the conversation, the traveling merchant offers you a book with the name on it Art of the Silver Tongue; This lowers the prices of items she sells and raises the prices of fish she buys. Keep chatting with her and bring her fish and things to fix to get the book which you then have to read while trolling on the ocean. Regardless, go catch some fish and keep selling them until you have the money. Refined Metal is located on the last tab of the Traveling Merchant Shipyard menu screen.
Where to find Refined Metal in Dredge
But if you’d rather not buy a refined metal, you can find it on the other side Dredge. Each of the archipelagos has at least one area where you can find refined metal. Most of them are blocked by debris, which means an extra step is required when collecting them. This extra step is packaged explosives, which you can buy from Gale Cliffs in Ingfell once you’ve completed the storyline of that area. It’s handy to always have with you because the cordoned off areas always have good stuff.
The easiest place to catch Refined Metal is actually in Gale Cliffs – sail into the open area and locate the waterfall. Go through the waterfall where you’ll find a chest with refined materials and other goodies. The other easy location accessible without explosives is in Stellar Basin. West of the southern tip of the westernmost island is a floating treasure chest of refined metal. (It can be hard to see because the chest is underwater, so keep your eyes on the water!)
You need six Refined Metal parts to upgrade your hull to the maximum level. Because refined metal is so precious, be careful when it’s on board – you can lose it if you crash your boat. My recommendation is to keep it in your onshore storage until you need it.
