It could be said that at iGamesNews we are in sync with the legend Jack Black (School of Rock), who recently appeared in the series The Mandalorian as Captain Bombardier and in Super Mario Bros.: The Movie as the Bowser’s voice. The actor has spoken about his passion for video game adaptations in an interview with the BBC (via IGN) and has expressed his wishes for the future.
Jack Black said that he is a fan of movies and series that adapt video games… as long as they do it correctly. HBO’s The Last of Us series was an essential stop in the interview. Black praised the work of HBO both for fidelity and the overall quality of the series.
The Last of Us was fantastic. And what’s crazy is how faithful it is to the source material. It’s basically all of the game with just a couple of tweaks. You will win all the prizes. They used the video game almost as a storyboard and I was like. ‘Wow, this looks the same’
It did not stop there. Jack Black expressed his desire to see a red dead redemption moviesince “has a story as good or even better than The Last of Us“. Movies and series like The Last of Us, Super Mario Bros.: The Movie, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Arcane: League of Legends are proof that high-quality adaptations can be made. And let’s remember that there are several more adaptations on the way:
We’ve been talking a lot about Red Dead Redemption 2 recently, from how veteran (and new) players continue to discover things to how animals have secret lives that many don’t know about. The Rockstar Games game is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, although it does not have a next-gen version. Because? That is a good question.
