Do you hesitate between the XGIMI Halo and the Halo+ when buying a projector, but don’t know what the difference is? Our comparison gives you an overview.
XGIMI offers you every conceivable type of projector. In addition to premium products such as the XGIMI Aura ultra-short-throw projector, the Chinese manufacturer also has portable mini projectors in its portfolio – such as the Halo and Halo+ models. But how do these differ from each other?
Automatic keystone correction
Both Halo projectors are fairly high-quality portable TV alternatives that can be used for your own home theater or even an outdoor movie night. However, the Halo+ version has a few upgrades.

The Halo+ is equipped with a sensor for automatic keystone correction, which the Halo projector lacks. The sensor adapts the image to the surface and thus improves the cinema experience immensely. The correction is made by a maximum of 45 degrees vertically and the same applies to the horizontal.
brightness
There are also small but subtle differences in brightness that can make the difference in the purchase decision. The Halo+ has a maximum brightness of 900 ANSI lumens, a light unit for projectors. The normal counterpart, on the other hand, only achieves 800 ANSI lumens. This can make quite a difference, especially when exposed to light.
Bild
The manufacturer also promises a better picture with the Plus model. An integrated image engine should ensure a clearer image and sharper colors. In addition, the so-called MEMC technology should avoid jerking.
Audio
In terms of audio, the projectors are also not on the same level. While the audio hardware is basically the same, the Halo+ has support for “DTS Audio” and “Dolby Audio”, which makes the sound that much clearer.
Preis
The normal version currently costs 749 dollars and can turn your living room into a home cinema for this price. You can get the upgrades in the form of the Halo+ for a surcharge of 100 dollars, i.e. a total of 849 dollars. Whether the surcharge is worth it is another question.
network world means
The improvements are noticeable in everyday life and the automatic keystone correction in particular saves a lot of time during setup. The brightness is rather low on both models and using them in daylight is rather difficult. Nevertheless, the 100 extra ANSI lumens make a noticeable difference.
The image is also a bit sharper with the Halo+. When it comes to audio, the Halo+ also delivers a slightly better sound, but we recommend combining the projector with real speakers anyway. If you can or want to spend a little more money, the upgrade is definitely worth it.
