Aside from the game I’m currently playing for review purposes, I’m not currently invested in anything on the Switch. I think I’m in a pre-Tears of the Kingdom slump with the Switch games, but hopefully I’ll be back on track soon.
On the other hand, I am currently rooted in the horror of surviving with both Resident Evil 4 and dead space. In all my years of gaming, I can’t exactly think of another instance where two exceptional remakes were released so close together. They are simply excellent and I will have a hard time deciding which one will be the best when it comes time to decide on game of the year (assuming nothing else replaces them).

Here are my mildest examples: Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is a fantastic game. I know, stop the press! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to figure it out, but I’m having such a good time that I figure I’ll finish it almost enough this weekend.
I enjoy some too tasty stealth platforming in The Library of Babel from the little I’ve played so far and I’m interested to see where it goes, even if it fills up my screenshot folder with “ooh that’s nice, I should take that…”

Like Ollie, I’m in a bit of a pre-Zelda slump, but a charming game hit the Switch this week that I plan to spend some time with this weekend while tucking into my Easter treats. Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories is a juicy little retro-homage to Game Boy visuals with a bit of EarthBound flair in terms of humor.
Otherwise, I’ll be tucking into the odd round of Tetris on Nintendo Switch Online, remodeling my island on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or trying to convince my partner that they should play against me in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line. I don’t have the energy to commit to something that takes a lot of time and it requires a lot of mental strength at this time.

This weekend I continue my third playthrough of Breath of the Wild. I’m nearing the end, I’ve defeated three of the four divine beasts and found about 100 shrines. It has taken a lot of time since I made the rule not to travel fast, but it has also been very rewarding. I discovered a lot of new things I didn’t even know existed in the game and I’m happy to be on my way to beating it again before Tears of the Kingdom comes out!
I might as well jump into some Pushmo puzzles and whip up my smoothest rhythm in Megamix Rhythm Heaven.

It’s Easter weekend, and that means eggs, birds, lambs, and that can only mean one thing. Yes, I will dive headfirst into Disco Elysium. I have to admit though, I’ll be playing it on my Steam Deck, not Switch. I’m a criminal, lock me up.

I believe I will be completing Lunark soon and it was an absolute delight. I keep putting off playing Resident Evil 4 Switch mostly because of the other games coming, but I’m really enjoying this one more than the new remake (a game I’ll definitely tackle later). I made room to enjoy Curse of the Sea Rats over the weekend, but went to pick up a physical copy, so the game may not arrive in time for the Easter holidays. Outside of Nintendo’s turf, Xenogars‘ last part on PS1 and release 1.0 Everspace 2 on Steam it will get some love (You all bought the original EVERSPACE on Switch, right?)
The game of the week is… well, not a game, but a library of games: Nintendo 64. By weeks, I mean the next few months. I still can’t figure out the reason why, but I can assure you that I’ll be revising quite a bit of the system’s stellar collection of games. I think I’ll start with F-Zero X…
We hope you enjoyed reading! Add a game you’ll be running to the poll below and leave a comment with your gaming plans for the weekend ahead!
