We explain to you how this new feature of iOS 16.5 works.
After the official release of iOS 16.4 with new emojis, push notifications for web apps, and other improvements, Apple released a new beta software update, iOS 16.5. This iteration of the iPhone operating system includes some very interesting features such as screen recording via Siri voice commands.
That’s right, in the same way that we can use Siri to read messages or ask her to send a message on WhatsApp, with iOS 16.5 it will be possible to record the screen by asking Siri.
How to Record Screen with Siri in iOS 16.5
The iPhone and iPad screen recording feature has been available for a few years, specifically since 2017 with the arrival of iOS 11.
However, until now it was only possible to record the screen via a button located in the control center of the iPhone. With iOS 16.5, it will be possible to activate screen recording and stop it with a simple Siri voice command.
Here are the steps to start screen recording with Siri from iOS 16.5.
- Activate Siri by pressing and holding the lock button or with the “Hey Siri” function.
- Then use the voice command: “Record screen” or “Start screen recording”.
- Screen recording will start immediately, with no countdown.
- To end screen recording, use a voice command such as “Stop Screen Recording” or “Stop Screen Recording”.
- The resulting video will automatically save to the Photos app as usual.
