In less than three weeks, the new Star Wars Jedi: Survivor should appear and make the hearts of Star Wars fans beat faster. The final gameplay trailer for the action game has now been released in advance – and it also confirms a trip to Coruscant.
Shortly before the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Electronic Arts released the final gameplay trailer for the Jedi sequel and once again shows Cal Kestis in action. The protagonist also ends up in the imperial heart of Coruscant; as director Stig Asmussen subsequently confirmed, the planet will be represented in playable form.
The said clip gives you a first glimpse of what the urban planet will look like in the action sequel. However, Coruscant will probably not be represented as a completely freely exploreable, open game world.
Asmussen recently got carried away with the confirmation of Coruscant in the game at the Star Wars Celebration 2023, but left essential details open. It is therefore unclear which part of Coruscant will be included and to what extent you will actually be able to explore the planet.
“We’re taking our Metroidvania approach a step further and will also, just to name one more planet, have Coruscant with us. I think there’s been a lot of speculation on that and I’m just confirming that here,” said the director of the game on the topic.
However, Andy McNamara from Electronic Arts later suggested via Twitter that Coruscant will not be represented entirely as an open world: “Just to be clear, Stig never claimed that Coruscant would be an open world that can be explored freely. He has just confirmed that it will be one of the destinations in the game. Survivor will have stunning planets to explore while also having our biggest environments ever, but we wanted to make it clear that that was said.”
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on April 28, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S – and then at the latest the final scope of Coruscant in the game will also be clear. Until then, you can take a look at the final gameplay trailer mentioned.
