after some feedback dead by daylight Players have changed it back to the original length for changes that meant it would take longer to heal.
Before anything goes to the main Dead by Daylight server, Behavior Interactive usually tests things on a public beta build (PTB). The Tools of Torment Mid-Chapter recently landed on the PTB, introducing a change that increased the base heal time from 16 seconds to 24 seconds, which quickly proved controversial. In a blog post, Behavior noted that it knows changing something like this is “a very sensitive topic, so we’re watching this change extra closely to see how it plays out.”
“After reviewing player feedback, we found that many of you agreed that the speed of healing others was already in a good place prior to the update,” Behavior continued. “This change also had a knock-on effect elsewhere in the game, making effects like Mangled and Hemorrhage stronger, and making ‘thumps’ (leaving survivors dying) more effective. As such, we’re reverting the base healing time to 16 seconds”
One thing the players agree on is that the med kits have been toned down, although that part has been adjusted to account for the healing changes, so further changes are in the works. What remains the same is that all Med-Kits have 24 charges, the same as in the current PTB. But now all health kits have increased healing speed bonuses when healing others: 35% for Camping First Aid Kits, 40% for First Aid Kits, 45% for First Aid Kits, and 50% for Ranger Kits.
However, if you spend all your health kits on self-healing, they are 33% slower and less efficient. “This will reduce the number of times a medkit can be used to heal itself, and make it take longer. This means that by default, the medkit will grant a self heal in the span of 24 seconds (before breaking down) in the add-on medium).” So essentially, things are weakened a little bit for self-healing, but strengthened for treating others. The Med-Kit add-on has also received a series of tweaks, which you can read about in the blog.
Elsewhere in the Dead by Daylight universe, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse film adaptations are in the works.
