Naughty Dog had it very, very easy to crown the arrival of Joel and Ellie on PC: the television series was a huge success for PlayStation Studios and HBO and that, added to the depth of desktops and the power of desktop systems, made The Last of Us Part I is a triumph for mouse players and a mandatory video game. At least on paper. The reality, at least for the moment, was very different. Another thing is that those from California agree with their efforts to improve the experience. Including everything related to the console version.
From today it is available version 1.03 of the remake of The Last of Us Parte I on PS5, which serves to fix up to 22 problems, polish some twenty aspects related to gameplay, accessibility, gunplay, melee combat and, for that matter, give it a little visual nudge to the whole.
All in all, Naughty Dog has taken the opportunity to add a couple of gifts for viewers of the series The Last of Us from HBO Max: we can dress Ellie with t-shirts based on the Warner licenses, like the series The Wire or the one that is her favorite game in the television version: Mortal Kombat II.
A small tribute that does not affect the gaming experience, everything is said. However, it must be admitted that fans have gotten the upper hand of Naughty Dog in this regard by modding Bella Ramsey’s Ellie or Pedro Pascal’s Joel into the game. Who knows? Maybe for the next game tuning.
What will happen to the PC version?
Just look at the patch notes to see that Naughty Dog is determined that the remake of The Last of Us be the definitive version of their story, at least in terms of experiencing Ellie and Joel’s journey interactively. Only in regards to the episode-prequel of Left Behindincluded as standard since the PS4 remaster, we appreciate little big changes.
- The arcade minigame has been made more accessible to Ellie by reducing multi-attacks.
- Ellie’s accuracy is now more in line with what she has in the game’s main story.
Elements that, perhaps, many of us who played the original and returned to the remake did not shock us so much, but that take us back to the starting point: what will happen to the pc version And when will the big patch that it needs arrive?
We know that you are working on fixing the mouse and keyboard version of The Last of Us Part I. The latest patch has arrived April 7with its version 1.0.2.0 in which a generous amount of bugs and crashes were added, including three different types of game crashes that made us jump directly to the desktop, a reduction in the load for the CPU in the textures or the response for the controls of both Xbox and the DualSense itself.
Bugs that should not have been present in the release version.
and even though The Last of Us Parte I It has not yet been verified for Steam Deck, being at the moment the only game from PlayStation Studios not to have the seal, Naughty Dog is introducing elements to achieve it, such as a better interface or problems that affected the performance of the game. Which are steps in the right direction, but that doesn’t mean we can call development off. At least for now.
The joys in regards to The Last of Us Parte I They are, but, at least for now, a temporary exclusivity for PS5 players. And, although PlayStation Studios has not announced its own new titles for PC, sagas like Bloodborne, Gran Turismo 7 or the sequels to what has already been published, such as God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn have many ballots to make the leap. The question now is no longer when, but how.
