Second Extension from ForzaHorizon 5l’excellent open world arcade racing game by Playground Games, Rally Adventure invites us to one, despite the lower risk very fun new rally oriented experience.
Welcome to Sierra Nueva
The discovery ofa new card on Forza Horizon is always accompanied by a real buzz, and as with any expansion, this escapade begins with one Shipping to a whole new region of Mexico called Sierra Nueva. And like its big Mexican sister, the menu consists of different biomes distinct, from sand dunes to palm forests, running through the small town Pueblo Artza.
As the name suggests, this Rally Adventure expansion offers us one original experience with this new rally mode. Despite a gameplay orientation that is still very arcadethis time The emphasis is on the realistic side of the races. The tracks and the atmosphere of the stages are very well transcribed. It’s dynamic and refreshing.
Rally Monster
This extension also brings its series of innovations relating to vehicles with the addition of mechanical parts, including the Anti-lag system for turbo engines suggest backfire etc backfire. A dozen new off-road vehicles are available to complete your garage, including Colin McRae’s iconic 2001 Ford Focus.
Graphically, the Playground Games teams have pushed the slider up a notch, the Biomes are very beautiful, dense and detailed
In terms of audio, we discover the return of the station Epitaph Radio (from Forza Horizon 3) and his new punk, rock and metal tracks. This playlist fits perfectly to the new environments and layouts of this expansion.
Join us on the adventure!
The discovery of this new adventure just starts with a handful of groceries to then introduce us to the three big teams of this DLC. First you have to decide and join one of these three teams. Each has a leader and a specific theme: Apex predator on the asphalt, horizon raptors on earth and finally Grit Reaper and its nightly mixed events.
The goal to advance in each team and climb the steps is to win races that then make it possible unlock other events and discover from new challenges on the map. We therefore find the usual danger signs, speed zones, drift zones, radars and other roadside elements to seek out and destroy.
With enough experience it is possible join the three teams and chain all the races, complete the new challenges to finally face each of the leaders to unlock the final event: by Goliath.
From the beginning of our activities, each event is offered with two very different race configurations: the Rally Horizon, A special kind of solo race
The main interest of this new formula is the fact that you only have cues: your co-pilot’s voice and panels appearing on your HUD to indicate this Specifics of the course (more or less tight curves, bumps, water, etc.). The sensations are really very good and you quickly believe you are a real rally driver..
The course horizon, on the other hand, is much more traditional. We find the races that we knew in the main work, with a starting grid of 12 pilots competing on a given track, neither more nor less. Great classic!
There can only be one!
Reached the last level of a team, the time has come to face its leader and I have to admit it I was a bit disappointed with these “boss” races. Playground Games had accustomed us to original productions, but this time theExperience of duels leaves no real surprise or risk takingwe stay on our hunger.
For its part, theThe Goliath process is more original with a confrontation accompanied by our three team leaders on a race of changing roads and terrains to put each rider in their preferred conditions. You therefore need feel comfortable on all types of surfaces hope for the ultimate victory.
Once this final test has been validated and after a short quick conclusionhere we are again in the air of Horizon Badlands to complete the final challenges from every team. This requires overcoming very specific challenges with vehicle restrictions or sequences of several activities in a given time. Remains interesting for everyone who wants to complete 100% Aim and unlock the last remaining accessories or skins.
In summary, after a few hours of racing, Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure offers a new driving experience with very good driving feelings. After putting the game aside for a few months, I’m happy to return to it with this original and refreshing expansion, but without taking any real risks.
I loved
- Very good sensations in rally events
- Slight graphical gap compared to the main game
- The various exalted biomes
- A good quality/durability/price ratio
I’m sorry
- All-too-classic “boss” races
- One last sent
- Willingness to take risks ?
