Pizza, canned soup, Counter-Strike and lots of LAN cables: Welcome to our talk about the fascination of LAN parties, live from CAGGTUS in Leipzig.
We want to get to the bottom of the phenomenon: why do we love LAN parties so much, how have they evolved over the years and what are our best stories and tips for anyone who wants to experience the ultimate multiplayer in the same room for themselves?

That’s why Géraldine is talking to two real LAN party veterans today: For Benedict from MeinMMO, LAN parties have the same fascination as a round of Pen&Paper with friends – well, he also heard that they were also used as swap platforms for certain videos .
Mark from MeinMMO even has his own LAN party bag in which he has everything you need for a spontaneous LAN party. Incidentally, he never unpacks them, since it could happen at any time. He also believes his fascination with PS2 started with Eye Toy Play.
Géraldine, on the other hand, had her biggest Counter-Strike moment at a LAN party as she is an excellent hide-and-seek player. She also prefers canned soup to classic pizza.
You can find out exactly what a LAN cake is, why you should never take a second screen with you and why Mark prefers to be the host himself, either in the video above or here in the handy podcast format:
