Another of the new uses offered by the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is the use of the device as running meter when tied to running shoe laces. With this sport mode, the bracelet will measure 13 sports practices with data that, according to Xiaomi, will offer professional results. The device will measure variables such as stride distance, cadence, impact force against the ground, and how the foot lands.
Xiaomi has redesigned the straps so that the new strap not only enhances its sporty face, but also its ability to be fashionable. The new hook system facilitates the exchange of straps maintaining a final design closer to that of a watch than an activity bracelet. Among the materials chosen for the bracelets will be leather, metal and fabric.
