Google’s range of smart devices doesn’t just live on Pixel phones. The Mountain View company wants its share of the cake in the sale of the material and for this he has prepared two devices that come close each time. We are talking about the Pixel tablet, about which we know almost everything, and on the other hand, about the foldable phone which left us at the end of last year with a massive leak.
The latter was the subject of constant rumors, as is repeated today. According to CNBC, which has had access to internal Google documents, the foldable Pixel will be showcased at Google I/O 2023. with a surprise: his price.
The Pixel Fold would be cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold5
The report prepared by the American media coincides with what has been seen previously, thanks to the leaks of the leaks also known as Roland Quandt or OnLeaks. In its folded form, the Pixel Fold would have a 5.8 inch usable panel which would increase to 7.6 inches when we open it, thus increasing to a tablet.
The presence of the second generation of Google Tensor processors that we have already tested in mobiles such as Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro is almost completely confirmed, on the other hand, the leak gives the figure of the starting price: $1,700. If that were to happen, you could say the Pixel Fold would be a cheaper foldable than Samsung’s solution, the Galaxy Z Fold4.
One element that was not expected and that CNBC is commenting on is Pixel Fold Battery. According to internal documents “it will last 24 hours, or up to 72 hours in low power mode”, or so Google would say. It also reveals the weight of the foldable, around 283 grams, so it would not be a precisely light terminal.
We note another rumor, because the report adds that Google would have thought to affirm that its folding has “the most durable hinge”, in order to criticize Samsung for problems with its original Fold. This one received bad reviews due to the fragility of its hinge, which extended to the 2021 model. As a gift for the purchase of this phone, Google would give us a Pixel Watch completely free.

Although it is likely to be seen at Google’s annual developer event, the American media that leaked this information dares to give a date: deliveries will begin in June.
There is less than a month left for Google I/O 2023, so we shouldn’t wait too long to find out in detail whether these leaks are finally being addressed. Android 14 will have its place at the event, surely with a new beta, but the followers of the firm expect to see some Pixel devices. Anyway, in a few weeks we will leave doubts.
