Normally, when Apple releases a new iPhone model on the market, the company takes advantage and sifts through the catalog, stopping selling some of the older generations that were officially still on the shelves. And that will happen when we see the iPhone 15, but it seems only on a higher level than usual.
The Chinese site MyDrivers published via its sources the models that would be thrown away with the arrival of the iPhone 15, and while some of it is predictable, there are moves that some of us would be a bit sorry for. It depends on the models you prefer, of course.
ALL about the NEW IPHONE 14: bye notch, new model and CRAZY price
Goodbye “iPhone mini”
Currently, Apple (officially) sells the following iPhone models:
With the arrival of the iPhone 15 and according to MyDrivers, the iPhone models that would stop selling are:
- iPhone 12: Apple would stop selling this generation, and would continue to ship repaired iPhone 13 models to those who need repairs for a damaged iPhone 12.
- iPhone 13 mini: the few sales of this terminal and the arrival of a new generation can make Apple say goodbye to its mini iPhone. For me, a real shame.
- iPhone 14 Plus: Apple would stop selling this model in favor of the iPhone 15 Plus, which would continue with its same size and strategy. Two “Plus” models would interfere in the catalog.
Of course, these models could continue to be sold in unofficial stores (and also at reduced prices). It will depend on the amount of stock left and encouraging sellers to get rid of it.
We’ll also wait to see which iPhone models make it into the product list. ancient or obsolete, but for that you will have to wait until September. And before that comes the WWDC 2023, which this year can be historic with the presentation of the expected Reality Pro.
