The existence of dark magic in Hogwarts Legacy and the total absence of a karma system is the perfect mix for dark wizards to emerge that leave Lord Voldemort himself as if he were a little sister of charity. My goal in this post is to tell you everything you need to know to become the darker version of your wizard or witch.
You probably won’t be able to get a fully dark mage with your created character, especially if you’ve already dealt most of the points. The best is that you create a character from scratch and focus it on evil, which includes talking back, asking for more money, and choosing to keep the stuff you get back for them.
If you’re ready, the first step is to unlock the Talents and unlock all skills from the Dark Magic or Dark Magic branch. This tree not only grants you special abilities, but also turns some common spells like Desmaius (Counterattack), Flipendo, Arresto Momentum, and Expelliarmus into curses. Enemies with the Cursed status take damage when you damage another cursed enemy.
I recommend you to use the spells that the Dark Magic branch turns into curses, especially to break the different colored Protego shields. Dedicate a spell slot to these, if you want. But these are not the spells and curses that will make you the ultimate dark wizard. They are the following:
Break
Yes ok Break It is not dark magic as such, it belongs to the family of fire spells. At Hogwarts Legacy school, only Fire is taught, but our classmate Sebastian Hollow does us the favor of teaching us Confringo, a much more powerful and dangerous version.
throw a long distance fireball that can set the enemy on fire. It is very effective against nasty spiders, for solving many of the game’s puzzles, and for destroying obstacles. It is unlocked during the quest “In the Shadow of the Vault”.
Bombard
Its name should already give you some clues as to why Hogwarts professors don’t lightly teach this spell and urge great caution when using it. throw a huge explosion that causes great damage to enemies both by direct impact and by shock wave.
It is capable of moving large objects and stunning especially strong enemies. Imagine what happens when you use it against small enemies or groups of enemies. This spell was made to deal real damage. It is unlocked during the quest “Professor Howin’s Homework”.
I divide
If we talk about hurting evil, then I divide it is one of the most dangerous common spells you can learn. This is an extremely simple, yet deadly spell: it launches a slash at the enemy that deals a large amount of damage. Its only weak point is that it can fail when enemies are suspended in the air.
You can use it against enemies and other objects that block your way. Especially affects humanoid enemies. Obtained during the quest “Professor Sharp’s Task 2”.
I was knocked down
By now you may wonder why. I was knocked down is on this list. Is it really a dark spell? Not as such, but in the wrong hands it can be a real headache for any good wizard or witch who tries to stop you.
Depulso doesn’t deal damage as such, instead it launches a wave that knocks back enemies and objects. Depending on the size of the target, you can push it back a few meters or even send it flying. How to use it being a dark magician? Throw enemies off ravines, off bridges, into traps or damaging structures… or you can use objects as projectiles to damage your enemies. Awarded after completing “Professor Sharp’s Task”.
I torture
The first of the Unforgivable Curses and the best of Hogwarts Legacy to control large groups of enemies. The Cruciatus or Crucio curse, nicknamed the “torture curse,” is depicted as a wave of red lightning that deals a lot of damage. sustained damage and paralyze to enemies. It is obtained during the quest “The Shadows of the Study” by Sebastian Sallow and you only have ONE CHANCE to learn it.
The curse itself is already powerful, but you can get an upgrade in the Dark Magic skill tree that makes it the best choice for control and curse quickly to large groups of enemies. The ability is as follows: “Hitting an enemy under Crucio’s enemies will launch a projectile that will curse another nearby enemy“.
Empire
The second of the Unforgivable Curses and the worst of Hogwarts Legacy… but that’s not why we’re going to stop using it. In the books and movies, this curse allows the caster to control the target. In Hogwarts Legacy simply turns an enemy against his comrades. It is obtained during the quest “The Shadows of Time” by Sebastian Sallow and you only have ONE CHANCE to learn it.
While it’s not the most useful curse in a battle against a lot of enemies, it can make all the difference against a small group of enemies. Also, the passive you can learn in the Dark Magic skill tree makes it a pain in the ass for your enemies: “Controlling an enemy with Imperium curses other targets each time it lands an attack“.
Open Kedrabra
Third Unforgivable Curse from Hogwarts Legacy. Although many users rate it as the best, its operation is similar to a pirate cannon: insane damage, but with a long recharge time. The killing curse is to be cast at very specific times during battles. It is not to be thrown lightly.
It is obtained during the quest “The Shadows of Time” by Sebastian Sallow and you only have ONE CHANCE to learn it. You can cast it without further ado or wait to obtain the indicated conditions to get the most out of it thanks to the passive of the Dark Magic skill tree: “If you kill an enemy with Avada Kedavra, all cursed enemies will die“.
And you can join the previous passive with another that says: “When you defeat a cursed enemy, you heal part of your health“. Cast well, Avada Kedavra allows you to take out large groups of enemies in one fell swoop and recover a lot of health quickly.
This is all the magic you must learn to become the most fearsome dark witches and wizards of all! Hogwarts Legacy! The most important thing is that you always carry at least one or two spells that cause curses and that you can combine with others that do a lot of damage and the unforgivable curses. Needless to say, but your clothes must be according to your darkness.
