As usually happens on a Friday of every month, Telegram has introduced a new update to its platform which further raises its level of characteristics: Version 9.6 comes with the ability to share chat folders and with a noticeable increase in customization capabilities. And it is already available, all you have to do is download the update from the usual places.
Talking about messaging applications implies referring to applications dedicated solely to the exchange of private messages and Telegram, a platform that is on its way to becoming a “super app” in its own right. Yes, it exchanges messages and is able to make calls or video calls, but it is also a cloud of personal data, a forum on any subject or a complete multimedia player. And Telegram does not stop there, that Pável Dúrov and his people maintain a frenetic and creative development.
Share access to the channels you want with a link
One of the bases of Telegram is its commitment to the more social aspect, and not only to the fact of allowing group communication: the platform focused on providing a meeting point for users of any interest or topic. And of course, when you subscribe to a huge list of channels, the easiest thing to do is to organize them into folders; an item that can now also be shared.
That you have a work folder where you host all company chats and a new colleague walks into the office? You can pass this folder to him so that he can point to the discussions in it. This feature, released in Telegram 9.6, is extremely versatile: you can add all public chats, and those you manage, to share them later. And you don’t lose editing of those shareable folders, which retain the ability to add new channels (or remove them). Those who received the shared folder will see a suggestion to join these new suggestions.
Thanks to shared folders, Telegram favors the use of the application for advanced users. And that’s not the only novelty that accompanies the 9.6 update:
- custom wallpapers. Telegram lets you customize conversations with gallery images or color schemes. Moreover, it includes an editor to adjust blur and motion.
- Improved scrolling when attaching a file. That you need to attach something that’s right at the bottom of the file? Move your finger down faster and the file browser will scroll faster.
- Groups of less than 100 users now show the time others read your messages.
- Telegram improves the app interface to eliminate steps when viewing information online or adding members to groups.
- Improved bots so that web apps can be run in any chat.
