World Update 13 is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulatorwhich takes you through the beautiful regions of Oceania and the lonely, desolate expanses of West Antarctica.
When you fly in Oceania, which is not just a geographical region but a continent in itself, you’ll find remote coral islands, white sand beaches, beautiful blue waters, volcanoes and rainforests, as well as densely populated cities.
At the other end of the spectrum, you’ll find Antarctica full of lovely, untouched scenery, glacial terrain, towering mountains and quiet solitude.
The updated Oceania section includes Polynesia, consisting of Hawaii and Easter Island, and Melanesia, which includes Fiji, New Caledonia, New Guinea, the Galapagos Islands, Indonesia’s West Papua, and the Solomon Islands.
With Antarctica, you’ll fly over the Antarctic peninsula, dotted with islands and 80% covered in ice. It has many names depending on the country. It is known as O’Higgins Land in Chile, San Martin Land in Argentina, Graham Land in England, and Palmer Peninsula in the United States. As the northernmost point of the Antarctic continent, it is the larger peninsula of West Antarctica, where the ice sheet covers many bedrock islands.
