Sony released its financial report for the year ending March 31, 2022, and provided some sales figures for the fourth quarter of the year.

For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2022, Sony reported total sales of 12 trillion yen ($85 billion), up 16% from a year earlier. In the fourth quarter of 2022, sales rose 35% year-on-year to 3 trillion yen ($23 billion).
Sales at the games and network services unit, which includes PlayStation, rose 33 percent year-on-year to 3.6 trillion yen ($26.5 billion). Fourth-quarter sales rose 61 percent year-on-year to 1.1 trillion yen ($8.1 billion).
PlayStation Plus subscribers remained at 47.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2022, while monthly active users (MAUs) rose 2 million year-over-year to 108 million.
Overall PS4 and PS5 Software Sales Expected in Q4 2022 68 million units, a decrease of 2.5 million units compared to the year-on-year sales volume of 70.5 million units. This fiscal year, game sales reached 264.2 million, down from 303.2 million a year earlier.
Sony said first-party games accounted for 9.5 million of these units in the quarter, with digital game sales accounting for 70% of sales (down 1% year-over-year). This year, first-party games sold 43.5 million, compared to 43.9 million the year before.
