Some video game licenses have decades of history and, as with many series of drawings, movies and other entertainment media, their characters never really age. This is a measure that, in games like Street Fighter, helps extend the license over the years … On other occasions we have seen characters aged or at different stages of their lives, as is the case with Dante in Devil May Cry or Solid Snake in Metal Gear.
Let's talk specifically about the best known Capcom franchise, Street Fighter, and his character Chun-Li. The history of the games confirms that the Asian fighter that premiered in Street Fighter II was actually born on March 1, 1968. When the aforementioned game was launched in the early 90's Chun-Li had some 23 years, an age consistent with its design. With the passage of the episodes its appearance has remained more or less young, always with a design that was around twenty or thirty.
What would Chun-Li look like if we counted his real age? With a simple calculation we can appreciate that Chun-Li's real age is currently 52 years. Of course, its appearance would be somewhat different and the artist @RagingSpaniard wanted to show it in a recent artwork of the characters. By the way, Ryu would turn 56 this summer and Dhalsim would already be 68 years old … It's no longer for those grandpa jogs!
