Zelda’s Adventure for the Philips CDi has now been ported to the GameBoy by GB Studios

The Philips CDI console contained several The Legend of Zelda games that were never ported to another console. One was The Legend of Zelda: Link: The Faces of Evil, Zelda: The Wand of Gannon, and the last one was Zelda’s Adventure. Creative mastermind John Lay decided to release a full port of the original CDi developed at GB Studio, with a few changes and you can play in the browser or download. Music composed by Beatscribe.

“In the 1990s, Nintendo made a deal with Philips to develop 3 Zelda titles. The first 2 were side-scrolling platformers, similar to Zelda II, and the third was a traditional top-down action-adventure game. Zelda’s Adventure looked interesting and I thought it would be fun to play on a portable system. I chose the Game Boy because of the existing Zelda games on the system. The game sticks to the aesthetic of Link’s Awakening, but also incorporates some features from Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. This is a complete port of the CDi original and was developed at GB Studio, with a few changes. Thanks to Beatscribe for composing the music. I hope you enjoy playing the game as much as you enjoyed making it.”
