Beelink raises the bar for Mini PCs
The first thing that stands out from this new system is the processor, based on the latest AMD solutions. On the one hand we have the GTR7 which is based on the processor AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS and the GTR7 PRO is based on the AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS. Both processors have 8 cores and 16 threads with similar frequencies. Additionally, both have a Radeon 780M which integrate 12 calculation units based on RDNA3.
To be more precise, the Ryzen 7 7840HS operates at a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and in Boost mode it reaches 5.1 GHz. This processor incorporates the Radeon 780M which reaches a frequency of 2.7 GHz. more powerful is based on the Ryzen 9 7940HS which operates at a frequency of 4 GHz and reaches 5.2 GHz in Boost mode. It includes a Radeon 780M which reaches 2.8 GHz.
Thanks to these processors, these compact computers offer support up to 64GB DDR5 RAM using two SODIMM slots. On the other hand, this system allows the installation of M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD with a capacity of up to 8TB.
Both systems are very similar in terms of specifications and connectivity. They include two USB 2.0, three USB 3.2, one USB-C 3.2 and two USB4 with DisplayPort 1.4 support. In addition, it offers HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4 and two 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports. They also include connectivity WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
One of the strengths of these new systems is that they break the boring trend. Currently, all Mini PCs have similar shapes and, above all, extremely boring colors. Beelink bets on the colors orange, green, dark blue and gray.
These Mini PCs are positioned as an excellent solution for gaming. They incorporate a very powerful graphic that allows games to be moved without major problems. Specifically, Elder Ring can move it at around 40 FPS, Cyberpunk 2077 at around 50 FPS, or Horizon 5 runs at 55 FPS. Additionally, it will move CSGO at 120 FPS, LoL at 160 FPS, or PUBG at an average of 85 FPS.
How much are these new systems worth?
This all sounds great, why are we mistaken. It’s a pretty big jump in the Mini PC market, but now comes the important thing: the price.
Currently they are only available on AliExpress for pre-sale and they are not exactly cheap. The Beelink GT7 costs 1,465 dollars and the GTR7 PRO costs 1,800 dollars. The specifications of these systems are not clear, because we always talk about maximum capacities.
It is not said that they ship for example 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 4 TB SSD. But, even if it was 64 GB of RAM and a 4 TB SSD, the prices are very expensive for these systems. The truth is, for the price of these mini PCs, you’re buying a much better desktop or laptop.
We’ll see if once they officially launch, they end up having reasonable prices.
