Storm, real name Ororo Munroe and widely regarded as one of the most powerful mutants on the planet, was orphaned at a young age and was taken in by a village priestess while traveling to her mother’s homeland in Kenya. When the village suffered from a drought, Ororo summoned the rain in an attempt to help. Though her mutant power of weather manipulation had negative consequences elsewhere in the region, the villagers worshiped her as the rain goddess.
Years later, with word of her ability to control the weather spread, Ororo was recruited by Charles Xavier as a member of the X-Men and took the name Storm. She led the X-Men and used her mutant powers to help people around the world. While searching for an endangered mutant child in New York with Wolverine, Storm meets Magik, who encourages her to join the Midnight Suns in Blood Storm.
