Buggy PC releases are pretty much the norm these days, but in the case of Starship Troopers: Extermination, that could be cool. The game is now in Early Access.
If you don’t want to be angry about bugs, but want to shoot them over the heap, you should keep an eye on the early access release of Starship Troopers: Extermination on the PC. On May 17th the game starts in the Early Access auf Steamas developer Offworld Industries has now announced.
The co-op shooter for PC is of course based on the legendary film Starship Troopers and lets you compete in groups of up to 16 (!) players in teams of four against the nasty bugs. You can choose from three different classes – Assault, Support, Defense.
Apparently you are more on the defensive, because it involves defending your base, gathering resources and building defenses such as walls, turrets and ammunition supplies, among other things. At the same time, you also conquer bases and refineries, destroy bug nests and complete various side missions.
As a reward, you can gradually unlock new weapons, equipment and perks as part of a progression system. Five different types of bugs await you as opponents. It all takes place on an extensive map with five zones where you fight against hundreds of bugs.
As is usual with early access, further content such as new weapons or enemy types and boss fights should be added in the phase up to the official release, which should last about a year. The sheer scale of the war against the bugs is also set to grow into an epic war over time. A corresponding roadmap is to be published at the start of the early access phase.
