The use of electromagnetism will be the cornerstone of Teslagrad 2
When platform games like Limbo hit the market, the perception of this type of proposition changed. It was no longer enough to jump with precision and speed, but we had to visualize the scene and the objects around us to overcome the area. A premise that was by no means new, but that served as a trigger for many studios to start developing their works under this premise. From this reflection was born the idea of Rain Games and Modus Games, who gave a twist to the concept by tackling such an amazing subject as the electromagnetism. An ode that we relive in Teslagrad 2, its second part where it deepens the physical phenomena that we have named.
shine with its own light
For this second iteration of the franchise, the studio presents us with a new protagonist. We will control Lumina, a girl whose only goal is to find her missing family. Unfortunately, her journey to the meeting is cut short and she finds herself stuck in Wyrmheim
Teslagrad 2 is a platforming adventure with a large part of puzzles based on electromagnetism. We will start with the use of a spark that will teleport us to nearby places, but little by little we will learn new skills. By playing with opposite poles as if we were a magnet, by sliding on the ground at high speed or wielding a hammer as if we were playing Thor himself. A great detail of skills that will be presented to us little by little, in a very good and manageable learning curve.

It will not only be necessary to hit the coconut to overcome the obstacles, far from it. We will have areas where precision with jumps will be important, and even moments of persecution where we cannot lose ourselves for a second. Moreover, without becoming a metroidvaniawhat is certain is that Teslagrad 2 has a great exploration component if we want to complete the map 100% which makes up the region of Wyrmheim.
Surely many of you are new to the game, but others are familiar with the first part. For those who have already played the original work (by the way, there is a remaster
Fus-Ro-Dah
Where there is a change, and a very significant one, is in the artistic aspect. Rain Games has infinitely improved its visual aspect compared to the first part. From Lumina herself, her movements, enemies, electric effects and particles… everything has a very colorful and lively design, but it suits Teslagrad 2 perfectly. Even the enemies themselves are charismatic and adorable in this game. And be careful, what the sound aspect is also very remarkable, with Nordic melodies that will make us feel like authentic Vikings.
Control has also been improved, although it is true that in some actions the luck factor comes into play, especially when we move in a gravitational field.
Conclusion of Teslagrad 2
Rain Games and Modus Games want us to become experts in electromagnetism. To do this, they have developed a second part of their most “sizzling” saga. Those coming from the first iteration may find a puzzle layout similar to what we saw 10 years ago, with small differentiating elements. But where Teslagrad 2 stands out is in its excellent visual section, full of charm and with a very well extrapolated Nordic context. If you like the proposals that drink from Limbo and company, you take the time to visit Wyrmheim. even if your hair stands on end from its static electricity.
