Two months ago we met thanks to a leak, which Warner Bros. plans to release Mortal Kombat 12 sometime in 2023. Now, just a week ago, NetherRealm shared a video thanking fans for their 30 years of supporting the franchise. However, at the end of the video it was possible to see a small Mortal Kombat 12.
commercials in Mortal Kombat 11?
After the video that gave us a very brief preview of Mortal Kombat 12the next day, the holders of MK 11 they were amazed that the game was receiving an update. However, until recently we learned that said update is far from preparing the NetherRealm fighting title for the arrival of Mortal Kombat 12 and has angered fans of the fighting game. This update has only added to Mortal Kombat 11 advertising of Hogwart’s Legacy, a fact that has angered the fans. This is not a new practice in the fighting game genre, as Street Fighter V has advertising -at this time- of Street Fighter 6 and previously we have seen other advertising campaigns for tournaments or franchise participation in other video games.
The players want to play Mortal Kombat, no Hogwart’s Legacy
Once the advertising video of Hogwart’s Legacybefore seeing the main menu of the title, the player will find an advertising banner of Hogwart’s Legacy which will tell us to buy said game. These practices are still disconcerting and more so because it is very unlikely that someone who in 2023 will continue playing Mortal Kombat 11 want to buy the game based on the universe of Harry Potter. It would have been a game like Multiversus – from which it is unknown when he will return – would make more sense. Since, at least it belongs to the same genre —and although its choice was inexplicable— it was the best fighting game of 2022 at the TGA 2022.
