Applications based on Artificial Intelligence revolutionized the industry with proposals already known as ChatGPT that include Microsoft’s recent GPT-4, or Bing Chat. Google, for its part, introduced Bard (its chatbot particular) in the world relatively recently and it can already be tested, although we hope to know more details at the next developer event, Google I / O 2023.
Or… maybe we don’t have to wait too long because 9to5Google revealed some details from Google Bard regarding Mountain View’s own mobiles. This is how the relationship between Google Bard and Android begins, starting with Google Pixel.
Quick access to Bard for Pixels
Google’s proposal with Bard is to compete with other similar solutions like ChatGPT, or the new Bing which already integrates perfectly with Android thanks to its widget. Currently we can test Bard, but is isolated on its own web.
This is about to change soon, as we have seen the first signs of its presence in Android applications such as Google Lens or Google Maps, to reach others later, see Gmail or Google Docs. The famous search engine company will not stop at this point, so in the future we will see deeper integrationat least at the level of Bing at Edge.
To do this, their plans go through providing us with access to Bard from its operating system, Android. The discovery of the specialized medium places particular emphasis on a widget which will fill our home screen. Of course, it’s unclear if this AI will be part of the Google search app or arrive as a standalone app. Either way, it would enhance what they already have.
The function of the aforementioned widget is also not known, but it should go beyond being a simple button quick access to chatbot. Entering the field of what-if, we can expect conversation suggestions that, when clicked, would take us to the corresponding application. Personally, I expect integration in all corners, including the GBoard keyboard.
Coming back to reality, we can say that the Bard widget will begin its journey in the brand’s phones. Or at least it will happen in the early stages, maybe Pixel users can test it out in advance and then release it to other manufacturers.
Anyway, there are a few days left until Google’s annual event where we will know all the details. So we just have to arm ourselves with patience to wait for a day marked on our calendar.
