The original POCO F1 caused a stir and since then all its successors have raised high expectations. Last year we met the POCO F4 and POCO F4 GT and now we have just learned of its renewal in the form of the new LITTLE F5 and LITTLE F5 Pro.
To know what the LITTLE F5 and LITTLE F5 Pro look like against its competitors in the mid-range of Androidwe compared them to terminals with similar characteristics and prices: the Samsung Galaxy A54, the Realme GT Neo 3T, the Motorola Moto Edge 40, the OPPO Find X5 Lite and the Google Pixel 7.
OLED display for everyone, WQHD+ for one
We have new POCO F series mobiles, the most powerful in their catalog. Without a doubt, they will give a lot to say during the year and they will appear frequently in the recommendations for mobile phones over 300 to 400 dollars, with a clear commitment to the quality-price ratio that tries to focus on quality rather than price. . That’s to say, mid-range price and increasingly high-end features.
In the price segment of the POCO F5, the OLED has completely eaten up the field of the LCD. POCO can boast that POCO F5 Pro arrives with WQHD+ resolution instead of settling for Full HD+, like the rest of the phones in our comparison (POCO F5 included).
POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro support a refresh rate up to 120 Hz, which has increasingly become the norm. It’s not as much as the Moto Edge 40’s 144Hz, but it’s higher than the 90Hz found in the Google and OPPO offerings.
As for the screen size, it is 6.67 inches in both POCOs, which is practically the same as the rest of the mobiles. The size of both terminals is medium and, although the POCO F5 is the lightest POCO With its 181 grams, the Moto Edge and the OPPO Find X5 Lite beat it in lightness in our comparison.
Cutting-edge processors and wireless charging
A few years ago, comparing mobile processors in a similar price range meant finding the exact same processor in each one. Today, the seven phones in our comparison have seven different processors.
POCO F5 launches Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and in the POCO F5 Pro we find a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. In both cases they are a more current bet in our comparison, except for the Dimensity 8020 of the Moto Edge 40, which was presented literally there a few days.
Of RAM, the two LITTLE F5s are well supplied with versions with 8 or 12 GB (the latter, not present in the competition) and the storage of the POCO F5 Pro stands out for reaching 512 GB in its maximum version, which we also cannot reach with the rest of the phones in our comparison.
As for the battery, the POCO F5 mounts a 5,000 mAh battery and it is 5,160 mAh in the POCO F5 Pro. In both cases, it comes with 67 W fast charging, but the POCO F5 Pro includes 30W wireless charging. This is the fastest wireless charging in our comparison.
cameras
We come to the cameras, where POCO uses the exact same settings in the POCO F5 and the POCO F5 Pro. For portraits, it has a 16 megapixel camera, being a 64-megapixel triple lens for portraitswith an 8-megapixel wide-angle and a third 2-megapixel macro lens.
It’s basically the same setup found in the Realme GT Neo 3T, although it seems something more just in megapixels than OPPO’s bet (64+8+8 MP) or Motorola’s 50+12 MP. However, it will be necessary to test the behavior of these lenses to be able to judge more precisely, since it must be remembered that the Google Pixel 7 with its “modest” 50 + 12 megapixels can do wonders.
