We are finally got an update on the anticipated release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, but it might not be the news everyone was expecting.
According to Cherry’s marketing and publishing team representative Matthew Griffin, Silksong is reportedly “scheduled for release in the first half of 2023,” but the game is still in development. It’s taking so long because it’s become quite a large project and the team wants to release it in the best possible state.
“Hey guys, just a quick update on Silksong. We planned to release in the first half of 2023, but development is still ongoing. We’re excited to see the game grow and it’s gotten pretty big, so we want to take our time to make the game as good as possible. Expect more details from us as we get closer to release.”
The previous official update on Silksong was in June of last year during the Xbox launch – the Microsoft-owned games division confirmed Silksong will be available on Game Pass in the next 12 months as a day one release. However, based on this latest development, that seems unlikely.
As stated in the update above, more details about Silksong will be announced as the game gets closer to release.
