Game news Hollow Knight Silksong: Bad news for fans!
In May 2022, Hollow Knight: Silksong won “Most Anticipated Game” at the Unity Awards and we still have to wait as the title is being postponed.
We’ll have to wait. Silksong, the sequel to Metroidvania Hollow Knight, is being pushed back. At TwitterMatthew Griffin, marketing and publishing director of the project, said: “We had planned to release the game in the first half of 2023, but development is still ongoing. We’re excited to see how the app develops and it’s grown quite big. So we want to take the time to make it as good as possible.”. Originally, Silksong was announced at the Xbox 2022 conference, which was only supposed to feature games “expected within the next 12 months.”
However, according to Griffin, more details can be expected later in the year. It should be remembered that the project is independent and the development team is tiny. It consists of just three people, joined by several freelancers from time to time. For the time being, Silksong should land on Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and PC as well as directly in Xbox Game Pass.
Hey guys, just a quick update on Silksong.
We had planned the release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still ongoing. We’re excited to see how the game develops and it’s grown quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as possible.
Expect…

One of the most anticipated games of the year
Sequel to Hollow Knight, a critically and publicly acclaimed game (90/100 and 9/10 respectively on metacritical) Silksong is certainly one of the most anticipated games of the year. The title was originally planned as a simple DLC. Fan excitement, evident during a successful Kickstarter campaign, prompted the developers to make it a standalone title. Just like its predecessor, the 2D Metroidvania will emphasize speed, combat and platforming. We will embody Hornet, an insect-like creature that wields a needle to confront enemies. His goal is to reach a citadel to escape from the kingdom of Pharloom. A playable demo with two new areas was released in March 2019 and early feedback was very positive. “Silksong is going to be a really great game that’s worth waiting for,” playtester Trustworthy Craig said on the discord dedicated.
