Apple has kicked off the countdown to the next release of macOS Ventura with the release of the second release candidate of macOS Ventura 13.4. As always, this beta was first released for developers, with a public beta to follow. It should arrive on Mac next week.
macOS Ventura 13.4: Release Notes
The macOS Ventura 13.4 release will include the usual bug fixes and security updates, as well as the following features and adjustments:
- The sports feed in the Apple News sidebar provides easy access to stories, scores, standings and more, for the teams and leagues you follow
- The My Sports scorecard and schedule in Apple News takes you directly to games pages where you can find additional details about specific games
- Fixes an issue where Auto Unlock with Apple Watch doesn’t sign you in to your Mac
- Fixes a Bluetooth issue where keyboards connect slowly to Mac after reboot
- Fixes a VoiceOver issue with navigating to landmarks on web pages
- Fixes an issue where Screen Time settings may reset or not sync across all devices
macOS Ventura 13.4 RC: other fixes
It is unknown if there are any other fixes in 13.4 that are not included in the release notes. Also, Apple has not released the security notes. A Tweeter by a macOS engineer who goes by the name of Mr. Macintosh said that the network content filter issue that existed in previous 13.4 beta versions has been resolved.
How to Install macOS Ventura 13.4 Public Beta
Although Apple has changed the beta process on iPhones and Macs to rely solely on Apple IDs, you still need to install a new profile on your Mac. As always, we don’t recommend running betas on your main machine for work as there could be bugs that cause serious problems.
- Click Register on the Apple Beta page and register with your Apple ID.
- Log in to the beta software program.
- Click on Register your Mac. (If you signed up for the beta of a previous version last year, you might need to uninstall the profile for that and then sign up again for the new one.)
- Go to beta.apple.com/profile on your Mac.
- Download and install the Beta Access Utility.
- Go to Software Update in System Settings to install the update.
- Restart your Mac
