Location of climbing gear in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
For the Climbing Armor Chest Piece, you’ll be looking for the Climbing equipment which is at North Hyrule Plain Cave (-1187, 0641, 0072), northwest of Lookout Landing and southeast of New Serenne Stable Well. Take the west exit at Lookout Landing and continue to follow the path north. You will know the cave is close once you cross the Carok Bridge. From there, exit the road still heading north and you will come to North Hyrule Plain Cave.
The loc ation of this cave is given, along with that of the chest piece of the barbarian set, by Place
Exploring this cave is far from difficult. Since it’s quite easy to find the right direction and the enemies are low level, this cave is ideal when you’re still in the early levels.
Early on, you’ll find two Likes, one on the wall on the left side and a second clinging to the edge of the largest part of the cave. Try to kill them both by baiting their attacks and hitting their weak points.
Once the area is cleared, go under where the Like Like hanging was and use the Ascension skill to level up. Keep moving forward take the path to the left.
Eventually you will find yourself in a bridge near small waterfalls where there is a Horriblin on the ceiling. Nothing to worry about as this one is also quite weak. Now from this bridge you can see the first waterfall.
You have to pass behind this waterfall, but instead of trying to get there by swimming, which takes too much effort – and endurance! – you have to take the path to the right and jump from it into the waterfall. You will find the trunk with the climbing gear hidden there.
Location of the climber’s bandana in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
For the Climbing Armor Head Piece, you’ll be looking for the mountaineer bandana which is located at Mount Ploymous Cave (3367, 0539,0272), between Zora’s estate – to the west – and Lake Lulu – to the east. As you progress through the main story and get to the area of Zora’s Domain, you’ll need to head east and get closer to Lake Lulu.
The cave entrance looks like a crack in the mountain wall and it is close to the waterfall. Keep your eyes open for a Bubbulfroga creature that will take you to the nearest cave if you run after it.
Ploymus Mountain Cave is not a complex cavern to explore, but it can be a bit tricky – and quite boring – due to the fact that all the walls are damp. The path is quite simple, but to get this equipment you must have the patience to climb up to the chest.
To make the process a little easier, we advise you to make a sticky elixir. This potion helps you to slip less when climbing wet surfaces. While you will still slip from time to time, this elixir will at least make climbing a lot less stressful. You must use at least a sticky frog or sticky lizard with monster parts in a pot to make one. The number of ingredients increases the duration of the effect.
Now, although there is no “right” way to climb, we suggest trying to follow a sequence of better positioned rocks.
Start at the rock on the right side from where you will have a good position for jump on a rock on the left and climb on another, a little higher. Above this last rock, there is another one. Climb the wall and reach it to reach higher ground.
Jump and glide to the next rock (1) then to two large rocks (2) that are connected. Now go to the right side and use the wall to climb to the next rock above you.
From there it is possible to jump and slide down to a rock on the left side. Now all you need to do is swipe straight to reach the final part.
Climb this last section and, once at the top, you can go to your right to find the chest with the climber’s bandana.
Location of climbing boots in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
For the Climbing Armor Legs piece, you will be looking for the Climbing boots which is located at Highland Zorana Road (2860, 0349, 0227), a cave located high in the Zorana Highlands, southwest of Zora’s domain. The cave entrance is near an area where there is a small lake and the edge of the mountain.
The easiest way to get to Upland Zorana Byroad is to soar south from the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower
Finding a way to access this cave pays off as it is an easy to manage cave. You are able to avoid all the enemies inside and go straight to the final prize.
In the first section there is a small pond and two paths. One on the left where you can see a Rock Like Like – which will probably start throwing rocks at you! – and another on the right, which becomes more visible once you approach it. Ignore the left path and take the path to the right! Be careful though, because there is also a Rock Like Like waiting for you on this path.
Ignore the Rock Like Like and move forward following the path that begins to descend. Eventually you will find the roots block your path. Break them to access the last section of the cave.
In this last area, there are ruins covered with water. Use the broken walls and pillars to get through the place until you reach the side where there is a metal door. With Ultrahand, open the door to lower the water level.
Now you can access the structure on the right side of the door, where there is an opening. Go through it to find a room where you can get the climbing boots.
