Halo Infinite updates and leaks have dropped massively since the fateful news that over 100 employees at 343 Industries have been laid off. Since then, we can only speculate, play and wait, as we haven’t had any major news or anything to get us excited except for one thing, which was finally announced today.
After a sea of rumors about its arrival, Infection Mode will be coming to Halo Infinite next season. This game mode has been leaked for several months now, even with another design, but it stopped appearing on the networks and that was the problem. But today the Halo account has made it official, confirming suspicions that the deluge wasn’t going to be the protagonist, since Iratus, the banished AI is the one who will now dominate the chaos.
A Different Infection in Halo Infinite’s Decline
What is known at the moment, thanks to leaks, is that the Banished AI, Iratus, will be responsible for the existence of infected and controlled Spartans. As seen in the Season 3 cutscene, this AI will take over the Spartans. In this case, for obvious reasons, the deluge will not be present, being a new canon design in the narrative of this Halo.
And we don’t know any more. This announcement comes without notice, without additional events and with less expectations than usual. Season 4 is coming very soon and the only thing we can expect are the newly revealed maps and game modes, but nothing more.
343 has brutally neglected this game, delivering very slow walkthroughs and disconnected ads that garner very little interest. Without going any further, at this point in Season 3, we’ve already had several big announcements and hype built up to get people excited to play. Unfortunately, these are tough times for Xbox, and it doesn’t look like the game will go much further.
