Ever wondered which Link smells the worst? The developers behind The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdoms have an answer.
There are just too many questions to ask and answer about The Legend of Zelda and the world. What happened to Twilight after Twilight Princess? Did Timelink’s Ocarina die a tragic death? How does time travel work? None of that matters, though, because we’ve found the answer to what might be the most important question in all of Zelda history: We now know which Link smells the worst.
Well, it’s not something that most people care about, but I love the little boring things like this, so it means everything to me. There are a lot of Links throughout the Zelda series, so surely one of them has to top the list as the one that should really take a shower. According to interviews with Wired (thanks to Kotaku), The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma and Tears of Kingdoms director Hidemaru Fujibayashi have their own opinions on Link’s worst.
Aonuma actually shares that he thinks the most recent Link, Breath of the Wild, has the potential to spawn the most BO’s. Aonuma mentions the barbarian armor that Link can wear, which is made of bone and fur. “That might be a bit stinky,” he said, noting its “wildlife smell.” Fujibayashi has a different take on this, and instead proposes a slightly older Link: the one from Twilight Princess. “There are scenes in Twilight Princess where Link has a sumo wrestling with the gron tribe,” he said. “I think he stinks in that situation.”
Although in the end, regardless of whether any of the Links stink, Aonuma does have one last thought on the topic: “Actually, Ganon is probably the stinkiest if I think about it.” While that part of the interview was silly, the whole The article is both worth reading as it explores why they decided to return to the world of Breath of the Wild.
This is just one of many important questions posed in the recently released Tears of the Kingdom. There are other pressing questions, like can you pet a dog (the answer might upset you, but fans are finding creative solutions), and why is Ganondorf so hot?
