There was a big stream to celebrate Dead by Daylight’s seventh anniversary – and it announced two new video games within the horror franchise.
Not only Dead by Daylight itself goes into another year in terms of content and then also has something to offer in year 8. As we already reported, the starting shot will be given in mid-June with the sci-fi horror chapter “End Transmission”. In addition, work on two new games in the horror universe of the game has now been confirmed – and they are quite something.
Behavior Interactive is collaborating with Supermassive Games to deliver a new, interactive, single-player story game based around Dead by Daylight. This brings a lot of expertise into the house, because Supermassive is highly decorated in the single-player horror area. After all, the development studio’s works include renowned and award-winning horror titles such as Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology and The Quarry.
For this title, the makers promise nothing less than “an intense narrative experience in the Dead-by-Daylight universe, which is a matter of life and death”. More information about this game will be announced later in the year.
Previously, the Midwinter Entertainment team had also joined the Behavior Interactive family – and they are also working on a new Dead by Daylight game. This is a multiplayer PvE title designed to deal with themes such as greed. Teams of up to four players can then conquer a strange new corner of the entity’s realm as the game progresses.
Far away from the video game area, there are other projects related to the horror franchise. In March, a collaboration with Atomic Monster and Blumhouse became public, which aims to film Dead by Daylight. The hiring process for the film’s director and screenwriter is currently underway. More details will follow at a later date.
And: In cooperation with Titan Comics, issue 1 of the comic for the horror brand will be available in stores and in digital form from the beginning of June.
