After long rumors, Mortal Kombat 1, a reboot of the beating series, was officially confirmed today. If you want to be there, you can choose between three different game editions.

NetherRealm today announced the Mortal Kombat 1 reboot, bringing back many of the franchise’s popular and long-standing fighters in all new glory, along with a story mode. If you want to fight again with Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung or Johnny Cage, you can choose between three different editions.

If you want to be part of the new beginning of the brutal beat ’em up franchise, you can of course get a Standard Edition, which is available both physically and digitally and only includes the game.

If you also want to invest a little more for a little more content, then the next level is the Premium Edition, which is available physically for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and also digitally for Switch and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). In addition to the game, you also get the “Kombat Pack”, which includes early access to the game from September 14th, as well as 1,250 Dragon Crystals (in-game currency). Also included is a character skin for Johnny Cage in the likeness of famed actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme, six new playable characters to be released post-launch, and five new cameo fighters (also available post-launch). .

The crowning glory, however, is the Kollector’s Edition, which includes all Premium Edition content including early game access, as well as a 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpt designed by COARSE. Additionally, there is a Liu Kang in-game character skin, three exclusive art prints, a steel case and 1,450 additional Dragon Crystals; a total of 2,700 dragon crystals are included here to invest later in the game.

All pre-orders – regardless of the edition – will receive Shang Tsung as a playable character. Early adopters on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S also get guaranteed access to the previous beta test phase, scheduled for August 2023.

Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC.
