That’s unfortunate, not only because the sci-fi political action thriller is one of the best movies on Netflix, but also because there’s no other way to purchase it as of this writing. Devastated after witnessing the death of a suicide bomber, Joong-kyung tries to get close to the assassin’s sister (Han Hyo-joo) to find out whether or not she also works for her sister’s compatriots and for his own conscience to calm down. Joon-kyung quickly finds himself caught up in Byzantine political power struggles and must decide whether to continue fighting as a member of the Wolf Brigade or run off with the wife in hopes of a better life.
Unlike other live-action adaptations of popular anime like 2017 ghost in the shell or 2009 Dragonball development, Illang: The Wolf Brigade is one of the few adaptations that manages to live up to the standard set by its predecessors. Though not nearly as wistful and melancholic as Jin spirit
Illang: The Wolf Brigade will join the 80+ Netflix Originals that have come along since then left the platform. Some are now available on other streaming services or available to rent or buy digitally. Others are not legal to view anywhere in the United States.
