You were happy. We they were happy. Much excitement is likely to be achieved as the tickets for the Minecraft Festival are released on Friday this week, with the official launch of our blockstravaganza this September. But after careful consideration and a firm handshake, we decided to postpone the event until the following year.
In recent weeks, the COVID-19 outbreak has led many organizers to cancel or postpone gatherings around the world, such as preventative measures to ensure the health and safety of their guests. The atmosphere around the Minecraft festival, however, is quite different. September still has many months left, and we don't make any guesses about how long it will take to put the protest behind us. This decision is due to the many preparations required to organize such a large event.
Our partners, producers, and exhibitions are based in all corners of the globe, and currently we can't come together and work together the way we need to. Without knowing exactly when to resume planning, we decided to postpone. That way, we can make sure that next year's event will be a surprise that our community expects and deserves.
Granted, this is really disappointing. But we have some good news! Minecraft Live will happen, as planned. It will be and place all the latest Minecraft news, announcements and behind the scenes scenes, and they'll be shown live on your screen, wherever you are. Thanks, Internet! Stay tuned for date, time, and age announcements.
